About me

My family and I lived in the Pacific Northwest for many years, where wildfires, droughts, snowstorms, ice storms, and seasonal river flooding from spring snowmelt are all common occurrences. We’ve since relocated to the Gulf Coast, where hurricanes, tornadoes, severe storm flooding, and dry seasons are yearly events.

I’ve volunteered with rural ambulance and fire departments as an EMT, Emergency Medical Responder and a Search and Recovery Diver, as well as with a national disaster relief organization assisting in the recovery efforts for multiple hurricanes. This has given me access to first-hand experience with medical injuries and natural disasters’ effects on families.

My desire is that this blog will provide useful information to assist in the prevention of injuries related to everyday activities, and serve as a resource for natural disaster preparation. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. Please let me know if you have any topics you’re interested in.
